Shawn A. Campbell
Shawn A. Campbell received her Bachelors degree in Horn Performance from Northwestern University, and did her Masters work at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. After free-lancing in Los Angeles, Shawn was accepted as co-principal horn of the National Orchestra of New York, performing in Carnegie Hall. While in New York, Shawn was a member of the River Side Brass Quintet which was invited to be Quintet in Residence at the Empire Brass Quintet Seminar at Tanglewood, and to the Banff Center Academy of Brass.
Shawn’s orchestral experience includes performing with the Oklahoma Symphony, the Phoenix Symphony, the Filarmonica del Bajio (Mexico) and the Norwegian Opera Orchestra. She has also performed with the Tanglewood Young Artist Orchestra, the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the Aspen Festival and Chamber Orchestras, the Grand Teton Festival Orchestra and the AIMS Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria. Shawn is a faculty member at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan.
In addition to being a founding member of Heavy Metal, Shawn has been fourth horn with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra since 1985.
